Generally, the front wheel brake is controlled by the hand brake handle, and the rear wheel brake is completed by stepping on the brake pedal. There are two kinds of brake devices for motorcycle: mechanical drum brake and hydraulic disc brake. The structure of drum brake is similar to that of automobile and tractor. The brake shoe block is made of aluminum alloy by die casting, and there is friction brake pad on it. The brake cam is rotated by the brake arm and the brake shoe block is pushed open for the purpose of braking. The brake consists of oil tank, plunger valve oil pump (all on the handlebar), hydraulic oil pipe, brake caliper, brake disc, etc. The brake stagger is nearly fixed with the front fork guide, which is the fixed part of the brake device. The brake disc is fixed with the wheel and rotates with the wheel. When braking, hold the brake handle tightly, move the plunger valve, and push the hydraulic oil along the hydraulic oil pipe into the two oil cylinders of the brake caliper. Under the action of pressure oil, the cylinder pushes the friction plate to tightly clamp the brake disc from both sides, which produces great friction resistance and forces the wheel to stop rotating. When the brake handle is released, the pressure in the hydraulic oil circuit drops back rapidly, and the oil cylinder drives the friction plate to return to its original position and release the brake.
